Summary
Hitoshi Shinsou doesn't have a very good home life. He could be gone for weeks and his parents wouldn't notice or care. The only thing saving his peace of mind is living in the dorms at UA –– meaning he doesn't have to be subjected to the terrors of his own house. Closed off and emotionally unavailable, he doesn't have many allies. The only adult who seems to care about him is Aizawa, who builds a relationship with him through their one-on-one training. As Aizawa gets to know Shinsou, and breaks down his walls, he learns just how badly Shinsou's parents really treat him. Aizawa resolves to adopt his student and raise him as his own, but it's not that easy. With Shinsou's quirk rising in power with each passing day, his parents recognize the track he is on to becoming a pro hero. Confronted with the possibility of fame and fortune for their son, they are determined to keep him in their grasp to take the credit for themselves. Needless to say, Aizawa's hopes of Shinsou becoming his own son don't stand a chance against the legal rights of his parents. What can Shinsou do?
