Mike cut him off. “And yeah, therapists are kinda like ‘paid friends’ that have a psychology degree and more wisdom than anyone else you talk to, but friends friends are real, genuine people who want to stick by your side through the good and the bad. No offense. I’m not saying therapists aren’t genuine and don’t want to help people. I’m just saying that therapists are paid to help you. Friends aren’t. Friends make that decision all on their own.”

“C"mon, it"s just a stupid note”, Mike says. He sounds so annoyed that Max can barely stand it, and she"s not the only one: El is staring at him with the most judgmental look Max has ever seen, Dustin and Lucas are shaking their heads, and even Will is rolling his eyes, hands still busy with the mess inside his locker and a new book secured under his arm.
“Exactly”, he says, slamming the metal door with more force than necessary and grimacing at the loud noise it makes. He lets out an exasperated huff and turns around. “It"s just a stupid note, so why do you sound so miffed? Are you jealous, Mike?”
Mike"s eyes widen. “What? No!”Will Byers has a secret admirer, and Mike doesn"t seem too enthusiastic about the idea. Max is determined to know why, and if she has to drop another note or two in Will"s locker in order to get her answers... well, no one can blame her if she does, right?
