what if the first time merlin sees arthur again hes still a crotchety old man so he sees arthur in the street and just messes with him by pretending to be homeless and like offering him a handful of uncooked rice or asking if he can borrow arthurs shoe to get a pigeon out of a tree and no matter what route arthur tries to walk to work merlin just fucking appears and arthur cant figure out why hes wearing gloves on his ears
Merlin is a grouchy old man who wants Arthur to remember. Arthur's just trying to finish his degree in peace.
