Summary
The world's most infamous pirates have retired to run an inn, but there's no chance the Crown is done with them yet.
It just makes sense to build a panic room out the back, and it makes even more sense to practice using it before they ever have to run there for real. They recruit the crew for a very realistic roleplay, but neither of them anticipates Stede's level of anxiety.
Ed will do whatever he can to make it feel like a safe space.

Summary
It’s probably two. Three, maybe. Ed watches the moon move like it’s an hourglass, just barely inching through the sky, one little baby grain of sand's length at a time. He thinks of what morning will bring; bitter coffee and a perch by the front door. Dirty carrots from the garden, sewing up his trousers he ripped yesterday, and waiting. Waiting. Waiting for a break. Waiting for solace. Waiting for everything to go back to normal.
Stede has been gone for a week.
Missing, actually, Ed corrects himself. Stede has been missing for a week.
