Summary
“So who was your would-be closet key, then?”
“You’re gonna laugh.”
Eddie grins, sharklike. “Oh, I bet.”
Taking a deep breath, Buck admits: “Jude Law in The Holiday.”
Much to his surprise, Eddie doesn’t laugh. Instead, he cocks his head and asks, “The Holiday?”
Buck doesn’t remember being struck by lightning, but he imagines the jolt would feel similar to the one that hits him now. “Cancel our plans,” he orders, immediately untangling himself from his boyfriend in search of the TV remote.
Buck, Eddie, and a lazy morning spent watching movies.

Summary
Only one person may come.
Only one person will die.
The person who loves her most can choose to give their life for her, or choose to let her die.
If the police are called, she will be killed.
If anyone else finds out, she will be killed.
Only the one who loves her most can take her place.
There were instructions. A place to go, alone.
A very clear stipulation that the location was being watched. That if you were bugged, or tracked, or followed, Maddie would die.
OR -
A serial killer kidnaps Maddie and leaves a note for the person who loves her most to trade places with her. Buck is only too willing to be the one to do it. Split POV Buck and Maddie.

Summary
Bobby clears his throat, flustered. “Nothing you say will convince me to let you engage in PDA in this firehouse.”
“But outside of the firehouse is okay?” Buck pitches. “Like, for instance, in the engine?”
“Absolutely not,” Bobby says sternly. Buck deflates. “Just… find it within yourselves to be professional for the rest of the shift. Please.”
“It’s okay, Cap,” Eddie says, with a smile equal parts charming and reassuring. “We’ll behave. Right, Buck?”
“Yeah,” Buck agrees— not because he wants to, but because he’s pretty sure he would do anything Eddie ever told him to. “What’s another 46 hours?”
Or: Buck, Eddie, and their first shift as a couple.

Bookmarker's Notes
Buck wonders, briefly, if he should say the q-word to increase his time in the engine this shift, and thus increase his time with Eddie—
“Whatever you’re thinking, no,” Hen says with a stern point.
Buck sighs and takes off towards the engine. If there’s a little skip in his step, well, that’s between him and the universe.

Summary
The thing is: Eddie hasn’t had to think about dating at all - not until his mother called to remind him how thirty-something-and-single he is right before Christmas. It hasn’t crossed his mind much, it hasn’t interested him whatsoever. He’s having too much fun hanging out with Buck all the time.
So no, he hasn’t considered dating men. Not really. He gets the idea and then he runs from it. Somehow, he always manages to run straight into Buck. The irony is not lost on him.

Bookmarker's Notes
“Buck has used his bare hands to keep the blood in Eddie’s body; Eddie has used his bare hands to kick Buck’s heart back to life. Somehow, this feels like the closest they are ever gonna get.
It only makes sense, that they’d wind up here one day.”

Summary
What the fuck is a clearly fresh copy of 'What To Expect When You’re Expecting' doing in Buck’s nightstand?
His eyes widen as they jump to another item siting right beside the book: a bottle of lube. A bottle of lube, and notably, no condoms.
No condoms. He feels so stupid because of course, of course. They were being so reckless.
It hits him all at once—holy shit. Buck is pregnant.
Eddie “Never Learns” Diaz has accidentally gotten someone pregnant. Again.
