Summary
Dean's eyes squeezed shut and he took shaky breaths. "They won't call your name," he whispered desperately.
"I know," Sam soothed. "And they won't call yours."
Dean managed a soft snort. "I know," he lied.

Summary
Grass crunched underneath his worn out shoes, and each step was a little slower. Perhaps he should lean against that tree, and then he would die peacefully. He would see his mother again, his father would be free. The sun started to glimmer on the horizon and Stiles closed his eyes, ready to pass on into the afterlife.
Except, of course, he didn’t.

Summary
Stiles shouldn't watch this. God, he can't watch this. He needs to - to close his eyes, to run away and never look back, to scream at the top of his lungs at the unfairness of everything. But he has alway been helpless in the force of Boyd's gravity.

Summary
It was on the last week of summer vacation when she heard the knuckles rattle her window. Once, twice, insistent.
“No, Scott,” Stiles murmured, knowing he could hear her. “Not tonight.”
The window rattled once more, and Stiles turned over on her bed to glare at her moronic best friend who couldn’t take a fucking HINT -
Oh. That wasn’t Scott.

It’s an overwhelming thing to realize when you’re fourteen years old, but Stiles has had his time to process.

Summary
These days, most everybody in camp had learned to wave away Astarion’s advances with a laugh. They found the flirtation titillating, Gale figured, or a bit threatening, or some combination of the two. He wondered if anybody else found it sad.

Summary
Karlach glances up from the silk draped across her palms. "I thought you liked me in the leather," she says, and the grin she offers up is crooked.
"Of course I like you in the leather," says Astarion, who has been increasingly alarmed to find that he likes her as she is, regardless of what she's wearing. "But I don't like that you hadn't the choice, you know."

Summary
Marcus holds the goblet up, still stinking with klauthgrass, and ponders them, clutched in the wretched claws of his undead monsters. "Well," he says, and smiles. "If you will not willingly drink it, I have a manner of encouragement."
And then he raises his dagger, pricks his own wrist until scarlet pools over his pale skin, and lets blood drip into the goblet.
Before he can help it, Astarion stiffens.
Astarion has spent two hundred years with truth as a bitter enemy. Fitting, then, that his choice to say it is taken from him.

Summary
Distantly, she hears footsteps approaching, and looks up in hope, praying that it’s the paramedics arriving–but it’s just Higgins, shockingly normal in his suit and tie, asking, “Rebecca, someone heard shouting–” and then he sees Rebecca crouched over Ted’s prone body and gasps, the file folder in his hand fluttering to the floor.
“Leslie,” Rebecca chokes out, “Ted’s collapsed, I need you to go downstairs and wait for the ambulance.”
“Yes, yes,” Higgins stutters, “But–”
“Go,” Rebecca orders, and Higgins stumbles over his own feet, rushing out of her office.
