Summary
It's only later in the night when the two of them are back home watching some movie on TV, much drunker than they had been at the party, that Theo goes, “Kitsey asked me if you were my boyfriend.”
(or: boris and theo at four different parties, stretched across time)

Summary
Diana pokes Anne in the cheek again, fingertip tapping against her freckled skin, until Anne’s grumpiness disappears from her face, and then, as though it is the most casual news in the world, Diana says softly, “There’s a boy coming to stay at the castle this week.”
Anne sits halfway up in surprise, blades of grass twirling away from the cloth on her back and shoulders. “A boy?” Anne asks, almost disgusted by the thought. “In the castle?”
(or: Gilbert is the prince from a distant land that Diana is supposed to marry, and Anne will find any reason to hate him.)

Summary
Anne and Diana celebrate the start of the 1900s with the taste of champagne stuck on their tongues, in a room full of people they barely know, and the shining lights of the Eiffel Tower outside.
(or: Anne and Diana decide to run away to Paris together at the end of Season 3.)

Summary
“Maybe I’ll teach in other countries someday,” Anne suggests sleepily, idly dreaming about the way she would like to graze the tip of her finger along Gilbert's lash line.
“That sounds right up your alley.” Gilbert teases with a hint of a grin, but she can see the way he blinks, long and slow, like sleep might be getting to them both. “I would miss you, though.” He says, and for a moment, Anne is sure she’s heard him wrong.
She watches his face, but he shows no signs of making a joke or any sort of follow-up. “Well,” Anne says a bit uselessly, “I guess you’ll just have to write to me then.”
Gilbert smiles small. “I guess so.”
(or: Anne and Gilbert accidentally end up snowed in at Green Gables.)

Summary
The last time Jughead and Archie ever talk is over the phone on the Friday before the 4th of July, and the last thing Jughead ever says to Archie is, That’s bullshit. This whole thing is bullshit. If you didn’t want to be friends anymore, Arch, that was all you had to tell me.
He spits the sentence out angrily into his phone, hears the way Archie’s breath hitches, and then hangs up the call before Archie gets the chance to say anything at all.
The next Monday, early in the morning, Dilton Doiley and his group of scouts spot Jason and Cheryl Blossom carrying a soaked body to the shore of Sweetwater, and when they rush down to help, they see the limp face of Archie Andrews, as pale as he’s ever been.
(or: Archie dies on July 4th, 2016 instead of Jason Blossom.)
