Summary
While there had been no time to listen to Lester’s story about his wedding, it was true there was no more beautiful place than the Arconia courtyard transformed into a floral paradise. Everything was stunning, including the vivid pain inside Charles, its knife-point pang blooming inside him like toxic shock. Winnie slobbered at his leg, rested her head against his pitch black shoes. “I know, sweet girl,” he whispered. He scratched under her wrinkled chin and heard Oliver promise things to Loretta, watched them jump together like they were sixteen, hands clutched and hearts intertwined.
As Oliver gets married, Charles thinks about that question - the one about whether he has any regrets in life.

Summary

He could talk to people, he could make connections. That’s exactly what he had done with Mabel, with Lucy, with Detective Williams, and with Oliver himself. What could be so hard about this, he wondered.
Charles, fearing that Oliver's sex life is more adventurous and doesn't include him, tries a dating app. Obviously it all goes really badly until it doesn't.
