“Bet I can beat their time,” Lance says as they watch yet another person falling off of the mechanical bull. He’s never been on one of these things, but he’s had to wrangle a rowdy horse on his parents’ farm often enough to be confident in his abilities and the man manning the machine is definitely worth showing off for. He’s got a bored look on his face, but boy what a pretty face it is. Bushy eyebrows and some stubble covering his jaw, the brim of the cowboy hat forming a shadow over his face.
“As if,” Max scoffs, finishing off his gin tonic with a grin.
“Now don’t be mean, Max, I bet he’d be able to beat that drunk girl that fell off before the bull got turned on,” Charles laughs, creasing up at his own joke

Navigating life as a single dad has its challenges, but Max has had 4 years to find a routine that works for him, when his son goes to big boy school for the first time he has to start all over again to find a new routine. Will he be able to deal with life's new changes whilst falling in love for the first time since splitting up with his ex fiancé Dan nearly four years ago?
Charles loves his daughter, he loves his job (when his celebs aren't trying to cause another scandal) and he loves the routine he has with his ex-girlfriend Cecile, but that doesn't stop him from being lonely. Will he find the one thing that's missing from his life in that disheveled looking man showing up late to the first day of school?
Or, Max and Charles are single parents and fall in love whilst dealing with the struggles of life.
