Alexandar could not believe it.
Well, he could believe it, in the sense that this is the NHL, and injuries happen all the time. But it always manages to work against him.
It had been since May that Pavel was first hurt, which didn"t help with the stress that came with the role of being the Avalanche"s new starting goaltender, no matter how long he had officially been there. Frankie was always there to back him up, he was always Georgie’s support both on and off the ice.
Until May.
Then they got kicked out of the playoffs by the Avs’ old goaltender and Frankie got surgery over the summer. Those stung a lot.
Then October. The surgery didn"t heal all the way. Frankie was still hurt.
Then November. He left back to Czechia per the team"s suggestion, deemed to be unable to play for this entire season. Possibly never again in the NHL, or, at least, for the Avs.
