It remembers being uncomfortable with its discomfort. With the wires criss-crossing in and out of its head through it’s empty socket, and the metal plating covering it’s exposed skull and dancing down it’s torso where they’d peeled back the flesh of its soft body to replace its organs, and the ever-present coldness and stillness of even the organic parts of its body.

As Shuichi"s foot hits that bottom step, he effectively springs the trap that should have taken his life and begun the killing game--and yet somehow, he survived, leaving the rest of the class shocked at the attempt on his life, and even more surprised when they discover that one of them really did succumb to a separate attack.
Shuichi had thought, had hoped, that after the first failed murder attempt, his attacker would have given up and left him be.
Oh how wrong he was.

Summary
In which Lucas and Claus journey together to get revenge on the drago that killed Hinawa, and only one twin comes back.
[A Lucas & Claus roleswap retelling]“H-HEY!”
A rock hits the drago’s snout, and it hardly flinches but certainly switches its attention to the thrower. It lets out a low growl, and its feet agitate the ground beneath it.
Claus twists around to see Lucas with another rock in his grip. He’s clearly terrified, trembling like a leaf, but somehow he was able to move while Claus had been immobilized out of fear.
Much later on, Claus would look back at this moment and laugh bitterly, without humor, at the irony. Lucas, the ‘crybaby’ twin, standing up against a drago for Claus, the ‘brave’ twin. How the tables had turned.
