Now, that might seem like a lot of dates, but they had been spaced out over a period of months, which was most likely normal! And well, they actually hadn’t explicitly called this one, or the last several ones for that matter, dates. Which was fine as well, of course!

Summary
Life as a ward to the Lord and Lady of Whitestone might not be so bad, if Imogen didn't also have to deal with the deluge of thoughts assaulting her mind every day.
Life trapped in a tower was not so bad, when said tower was filled with books to read, each one a world to escape into. Sometimes it can be difficult to distinguish between reality and fiction, though.

“Yeah, unless I don’t finish my degree.” It’s a grumpy little mumble, barely meant for Yelena, but she responds to it nevertheless.
“What do you mean?“ she demands. “You only have a small amount of time left! Why would you stop now?”
“I don’t know,” Kate murmurs, and Yelena is bewildered to hear a faint echo in her own emptiness, coming from nearly six thousand kilometers away. “I just don’t really know what to do now, I guess. Clint says I’m the new Hawkeye, but that’s not official or anything. And even when it is, it’s going to be a lot of training. So I’m waiting to wait, or something, and — and I don’t know why I’m talking to you about this, actually.”
“Sometimes, it’s nice to just talk,” Yelena thinks and then says. “But I don’t think you should drop out of school, Kate Bishop. School is cool.”

There is a world in which people's souls are made manifest, taking the form of a creature who walks the world beside them—these creatures are called dæmon.
Imogen has lived half her life with a dæmon that shows the world her soul is a wild and frightening thing and ever since she started seeing the strange-true images in other’s heads, she’s been thinking they might be right. Laudna’s cursed or evil, if rumours are to be believed. Her dæmon is unsettled, and as unsettling as she is. Maybe he always will be. But maybe the way souls appear is not how they are, Imogen thinks, because she’s never met anyone better than that strange pair.
A chance encounter at the start of the school year takes them across the country and years as they figure out who they are, to themselves and to one another.

Summary
