Summary
Buck meets Eddie one night at a bar and sparks fly. Buck feels an instant connection but after Eddie leaves in a rush the next morning, he puts it down to his imagination because he’s only good for one night, no one wants him for keeps.
Cue him running into Eddie almost everywhere he goes, like the universe keeps putting Eddie in his path. And Eddie is kind and never makes their interactions feel awkward and the way he smiles at Buck has something warm fluttering to life inside him.
Is his crush unrequited or is there a chance Eddie feels the same?

Summary
For a moment, he wonders with his eyes open fixating on the mole under Eddie’s left eye as he’s peaceful and serene and near that if Buck were to reach out and touch him—would he be considered holy?
Would the touch bleed through his flesh? Would he be regarded as sacred having to touch something reverent?
Would this be a prayer?
Would this be talking to God asking him to do something divine?
Or: Buck realises his feelings for Eddie as Eddie learns to bake, shaves his moustache off, tries to bring his son back home and realises he’s gay all this time.

Summary
Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)

Summary
“I wanted to jump after you, you know,” Buck says quietly, his eyes fixed on the TV but not really seeing it. “Back at the river.”
Eddie tenses, his grip tightening on the beer bottle in his hand. “Buck—”
“I almost did,” Buck continues, not letting him deflect. “But Bobby stopped me. He grabbed me before I could go over the edge. I was so mad at him for it, but I knew he was right. If I went in after you, it… I would’ve just made it worse.”
Eddie swallows hard, the guilt surging up like a wave, threatening to pull him under. “You shouldn’t have to… It would’ve been suicide, Buck. And it’s… It’s my mess. You shouldn’t have to deal with it.”
Buck finally looks at him, those blue eyes sharp and serious. “You think I don’t know how it feels? To be the one who’s supposed to save everyone, to be the one who’s supposed to fix everything, and fail anyway? I know, Eddie. I know because I’ve been there. I miss Chris too, you know. I miss him like crazy.”OR: Chris is in Texas, Buck has a boyfriend, and Eddie’s just trying to hold it together—only to end up with a new look and a new realization instead.
