Summary
Post Season 4, Eadith, Finan and Uhtred are in an established, yet slightly secret, relationship. After being attacked by a raiding party, Eadith and Uhtred do their best to help Finan heal.
“Do you love him?” Young Uhtred asks thoughtfully, though he’s not quite able to meet Eadith’s gaze. She has often suspected that Young Uhtred knows there is a closeness to the three of them, so Eadith is not surprised by his question.“My husband?”“My father.”
Eadith smiles softly at the priest. “You know I do, Uhtred. I love them both very much.”
“It is a sin, lady,” Young Uhtred says, his voice slightly tortured. “They cannot…”
Eadith puts her hand on his cheek and he does not stop her. “There is so much between them we will never know. They have lost mothers and fathers. They have lost wives and sons. They have ridden into hell together more times than you or I can count. How can we do anything but allow them this one happiness?”

She lets out an irritated little sigh and it’s terrible how part of him is delighted to get a reaction from her, any reaction. “What do you want, Aldhelm?”

She finally stops pacing and turns to look at him, her face confused.
