Summary
It’s the third gloomy morning in a row. Fog lines the streets of Nimbasa City after yet another night of heavy, cold rainfall. They get closer and closer to the holidays with each passing second, and the flow of time seems— to Ingo —almost merciless every now and then. He’s left struggling to catch up with a world that already has, and always will, move forward without him if he ends up stuck behind that yellow line at the platform. That there’s a certain kind of existential grief to be found in it all, is along the lines of what Ingo thinks to himself, watching bits of condensation slither down the window while he waits for the thermometer in Emmet’s ear to beep. Each one slides along the windowpane in such erratic patterns, and it makes him silently thankful to have regained some direction in life.
