Summary

Hello All! This is my second (technically first) fic ever, and is one that I have already written and am almost finished writing on FanFiction.net. Unfortunately, while there are some things I like about that story, it doesn't hit the mark in terms of pacing, coherency, and decent writing for me, personally. At times while reading, things felt as if they were simultaneously shambling slowly and moving way too fast (Almost the whole thing takes course in the span of less than a day.) I will continue that fic until I reach what I feel is an acceptable endpoint, which is soon, but as for right now, I wanted to rewrite bits, add more flesh, and fix some issues I felt with the pacing. Thus, I present: StarChild, rewritten and remastered. Please enjoy, and feedback is greatly appreciated! :)

Summary
Upon death the Smiling critters are sent to an afterlife, for most of them it's paradise, a second life away from the pain and suffering they endured at Playtime Co, but for Catnap, it's an even worse hell than Playtime ever was as he's forced to suffer and pay for all his sins. Will he ever get a chance to truly repent? And will the others ever forgive him, or will his eternity in the afterlife be nothing but pain and suffering at the hands of those he wronged in the past, especially Dogday?

It turns out that after death there's a bit more that awaits the SmillingCritters, a place they can call home after they were pulled out of Critter Valley long ago to be put into those larger bodies they were surprised to find themselves back to their original homes, original bodies but with the added different that they could no longer die yet they could still feel pain, most of the critters try their best to forget the hell they’ve been through and return to a somewhat normal life, all until the last of the critters arrived at the valley after he had made a certain deal with a deity to offer him a second chance to earn their forgiveness, Will the other critters forgive him for his sins? Or will they make him wish he chose the option of eternal damnation? Only time will tell.

Or: Before CatNap can sacrifice himself to The Prototype, The Player interferes by shoving him out of the way. This opens up a whole new can of worms.
