After almost one hundred years of distrust and barely hidden hostility towards each other, peace is finally restored between the Zora and the Hylians. And, as a sign of trust and their goodwill, both kings agree upon an exchange: Each race will offer one of their knights to become the Royal Guard of the heirs to their throne.
Both Princess Mipha and Princess Zelda have mixed feelings about this agreement, while Prince Sidon is beyond excited. He has always been fascinated by the Hylians, their culture and customs and now finally has the chance to quell his thirst for knowledge in that matter and his plan to getting there is already set: He will befriend the hylian knight!

Link feels a deep loneliness in his chest, made worse when he finds out that Sidon is engaged. He decides to relieve some of that by making use of Sidon"s mirror-image avatar. Only he has no clue that when Sidon closes his eyes for a long moment he can see through the avatar"s. When Link returns to the Domain Yona convinces him to finally stay and talk with Sidon which leads to much more fun than Link could have hoped for.

Goosebumps prickle along Link’s skin. His senses go haywire, survival instincts triggered by an apparent threat. Something is watching him.
Leaping back, he whips out a bow and arrow and aims it at the river, where the source of that omnipresent gaze feels strongest. There is a faint plink as something dips below the water and out of sight. For a moment he thinks he sees a faint outline of something large and red beneath the waves, but it lasts only a second, gone the next.
Link’s eyes narrow.
It’s that creature again.

Something has followed Link home. It is a beast of unknown origin, appearance, and size, and for some reason it has taken an interest in him.
