In light of his service to Starfleet, the judge decides to send someone out to inspect his living situation. Len, Jim and Spock know the social worker's coming, just not when. It has to be a surprise to encourage natural behavior.
Len shouldn't have worried.

“I knew it!” He exclaimed, swatting at the brunette’s shoulder. “That whole innocent act was a facade, wasn’t it?”
He was met with a smug grin. Sulu rolled his eyes, breathing out heavily. His cheeks were still burning. He looked away.
“God, the whole crew was staring at us! They must’ve thought we were-” He stopped abruptly.
“Yes?” Sulu could practically hear the grin in Chekov’s voice.
“Uh, never mind. Why are you even acting like this anyway?”
Chekov shrugged, stepping closer. Once again Sulu found himself backed against a wall.
“Just wanted to see. Had no idea you’d react like this, though,” Once again Sulu felt his body temperature rise considerably, and was sure it was reflected in his cheeks. He stared at Chekov, who currently had his arms crossed, his head tilted to one side, and an insufferable grin on his face as he regarded Sulu with the same intensity Spock would a science experiment.___________
Or, Sulu and Chekov are at Scotty's birthday party. Chekov flirts a lot - a whole lot - and Sulu can no longer handle it.
