Summary
It was something they’d often discussed at the beginning of the relationship: the potential that one day, sometime in the future, the three of them could end up fighting for a championship title against one another. Summary
“It’s just so big,” Charles insists, averting his eyes determinedly, staring back at the spoon in his hands. “I don’t understand why anybody would need a mirror that big.”
Max smiles at him benignly, handing him a plate to dry off. Then, he says, “Sometimes people like to watch.” He glances over at Charles, assessing. “When they fuck someone.”
Charles drops the plate with a loud clatter, fumbling for it and knocking it back into the sink full of soapy water. Max looks caught halfway between intrigue and delight, slowly moving to pick it up again. Luckily, it’s intact. Unlike Charles’ dignity.

Max invites Charles over for dinner. Charles is doing a perfectly acceptable job of pretending he’s not absolutely head-over-heels in love with Max, when he stumbles upon the enormous mirror in Max’s bedroom.
It’s difficult not to think about after he sees it. The mirror. In Max’s bedroom.
