Summary
And now, even if for a short time, Reo was back in Japan. After not hearing anything for years, in true Reo fashion, he materialized. Only this time, it was in the form of thick stationery folded neatly in a crisp envelope rather than the embodiment of an angel in a high school stairwell.
Nobody puts on a party like a Mikage, much to Nagi's dismay. Four years after the end of Blue Lock, Reo and Nagi have drifted apart for reasons unknown to him. Determined to pick up the pieces, Nagi attends the annual Mikage Halloween party with the intent to salvage what's left of their relationship, and hopefully nurture something stronger in its place.

Summary
Reo’s thumb caressed Nagi’s hand, drawing Nagi’s eyes to him. Where Nagi found the tank in front of him to be a bit overwhelming, witnessing it through the filter of Reo was much more relaxing and beautiful. As he watched how Reo’s eyes reflected the cool waters of the tank, beautiful lavender mixed with cerulean and shining bright with wonder, Nagi wondered if Reo felt that way sometimes. That stopping work meant he would drown.
During a much-needed off-season, Nagi is annoyed at how much Reo continues to work. He uses his genius to think of a way to help. His success rate is questionable.

Summary
Reo’s greatest fear is being a marionette: wooden limbs clacking in predetermined ways, controlled in every sway, only destined to follow someone else's instructions. Then, he meets Nagi, and he imagines cutting away these strings and finally becoming free.
He has to die to realize this isn't the case. That this has never been the case, and that Reo is nothing but a blunt instrument in the hands of fate, meant to guide Nagi to go far from his reach.
It’s okay. If it’s Nagi, then he can bear it.

The admission makes Reo’s heart flutter, his hands reaching up to gently cup Nagi’s face between them as he finally looks back up into his eyes, devoid of almost all color– and Reo frowns.

Reo stiffens. Seishiro thinks that’s the end of their little conversation, but Reo, always adept at extending their stolen moments, barges forward. “And if I disappoint you?”
Disappoint Seishiro? Reo probably hasn’t realized how difficult of a task that is. For him, especially.
“Don’t worry about that,” he says, his breath ruffling Reo’s hair. Reo shivers, almost imperceptibly, but Seishiro notices.
He’s not sure if he’s allowed to reach out. He does anyway.

“Nagi! Did you hear what I said?” Reo fixes him with that look now, and Nagi lifts his phone up further to hide behind, as if he hadn’t just been staring off and spacing out. Reo’s hand gently bats down on his calf, “Hey!”
“Hi, Reo.”
“Don’t ‘hi, Reo’ me! I’m not letting you off the hook just because you’re cheeky. What was I just talking about?”
Nagi hums, mentally retracing their steps as he taps away at his phone screen to claim his daily login rewards.
