Summary
New information sends Jiang Cheng in disarray, he feels trapped and suffocated by his feelings, so as usual, he goes out in a hunt to vent where here he accidentally meets an immortal who offers him a solution to all his problems.

“You can take away my emotions?” He asks again, conflicted. He wants his emotions away, his bitterness and anger had done nothing but drag him down this past years, but he didn’t want all of them gone.
“No,” the immortal giggles, “I can take away your feelings.”
“Aren’t they the same?” he growls at the immortal, irritated at her giggling.
“No-” She hums, “-anger, love, happiness are examples of your emotions. No immortal can ever take that away, I am talking about your feelings. I cannot take away your emotion of love but I can take away your love for someone, your anger at someone, just like that.”
The longer she talks, the more Jiang Cheng feels confident at sealing the deal, it may have been because of what just recently happened or it may be because of the past 16 fucking years of his life, or maybe even before that. “Last question, what’s in it for you?”
The immortal smiles.

Summary
Jiang Cheng is stuck- trapped, in a prison forged out of his past and his emotions, one he had been trying to escape for the past years. “You’re offering to take away my emotions?” He asks, conflicted, he has always struggled with his anger, anyone who knew him knew that, but people weren’t often aware that his struggle with his anger was a result of struggling with every other emotion he has and being unable to express them properly, they weren’t aware that at this point, anger was a comforting friend.
“No,” the immortal giggles, her sound soft and melancholic but somehow grating on his ears “I can take away your feelings.”

He gazes wide-eyed at one of his best friends as the younger caresses his knuckles, smiling at him with the same hopeful look mirrored in the rest of the group's faces scattered around the living room.
And in his moment of disbelief, he considers all the times he managed to catch the members sharing small, lovingly touches with one another. He recalls the sounds of sleepy kisses being sneakily exchanged not more than a few feet away from his bunk in the early morning hours. He remembers the barely muffled moans coming from down the hall or in the bathroom when they thought he was already deep asleep. He thinks of the months he's had to bear silent witness to all this with such deep painful yearning, that he can't recall the last time his heart had not ached.
And in this moment, he already knows his answer.
So he takes a deep breath, squeezes Taehyung's hand and says, "No."
