Summary
“You smell of another dragon.” The man before him says, and Tartaglia would’ve thought it impossible if he hadn’t just heard, but Zhongli’s voice is much deeper than before, with an emotion tinged to it that Tartaglia couldn’t even begin to decipher. Because those rich earthy honey and gold eyes are staring him down and his pupils are slitted.
“I- what?” Tartaglia asks eloquently, his mind racing as Zhongli continues nuzzling his nose against Tartaglia’s ear and neck, lips brushing against his pulse.
“Another dragon,” The other says like it’s an explanation, and Tartaglia’s mouth is open to chastise the man for not giving him an actual answer, but the words morph on his tongue into a verbal gasp as warm wetness is pressed against the space right under his ear. The other man is lapping at his pulse with the flat of his tongue and suddenly Tartaglia’s body is on fire. There’s another growl that rattles Tartaglia’s teeth even as the man pulls away.
“Why do you smell of him?” And Tartaglia would love to give the other an answer, but he’s absolutely certain he’s completely lost the plot.

Between surviving three months with the monsters of the Abyss at age fourteen, fighting his way up from square one through the ranks of the Fatui to his current position, and maintaining his facade as “The Greatest Toy Salesman in Snezhnaya” in the eyes of his youngest and most mischievous brother; yes, it would take a lot to find him in a truly tight spot.
Waking up in a body that existed nearly 3,700 years ago in the land that had yet to become Liyue? That would be disorienting even for a god. And speaking of gods, the only person he can turn to happens to be one. Here's hoping that the younger Zhongli is as friendly as the one Childe has grown close to.
