"Have you ever had no strings attached sex?" Janine eventually asks and she immediately looks up at the ceiling to avoid eye contact, feeling her cheeks heat up in embarrassment.
"Uh no," He answers, scratching the back of his neck. "I don't get…uh how you can go through such an intimate act and not make some connection with them even if it's just a single string. I think people who say they can are lying."
Janine nods her head in agreement and then does it a second and third time and somehow manages to stop herself from doing it a fourth time when she realises how strange she must look to someone on the outside, “Neither.”
"Oh," Gregory says. "Nice."
OR Janine doesn’t do one-night stands. Then she meets Gregory.

Summary
He had made her something with potatoes, and had made himself something with chicken. Janine remembered because he made a joke about it. She hadn’t gotten it at first, so it must not have been funny, but Janine laughed anyway. Not from the joke, or his face, or the way he held out his hands while waiting for a reaction — or maybe it was all three. She laughed because she felt it, simple and true. It just came out.
Janine and Gregory aren't great with feelings, but they have their own way of expressing them.
