But Eddie’s okay with being alone, it’s not like he’s ever wanting for company, but asking a hookup for something more than physical is just asking to be ghosted. So it’s just fine with him to keep on working at the Music Warehouse and meeting up with his friends for dinner instead of worrying about who is going to help him raise his rats.

Summary
Steve’s face softens and he reaches across the table to take one of Eddie’s hands. They sit like that for a moment, Eddie swallowing before reaching into his coat pocket to grab the ring.
The pocket is kind of deep and all he feels is fabric so he digs in a little further. Still, all he feels is the cotton lining against his fingers.
And then he realizes.
He forgot the ring.

Summary
His hands are shaking when he grabs at his keys, fingers fumbling over themselves as he tries to single out the house key. They fall with a clatter. He exhales quickly and reaches for them, pressure threatening to release when he finally gets them in hand again. This time when he tries for the key, it comes easily.
Now that the door is unlocked, all Steve has to do is make it to the bathroom. Just a few more steps.
He tenses all over again when the door opens from the other side. Eddie’s standing there with a smile, mouth opening to greet Steve like he always does.
And the pressure lifts.

They’ve been monster hunting for a couple years now. Most of the time there isn’t a lot to show, just stories blown out of proportion by paranoid people. All of their video equipment is in the back of the van in different cases or bags. The plan was to drive all the way to Point Pleasant, Virginia, stay the night, and then conduct their own research on the elusive Mothman. Every haunting, entity, or cryptid they investigate it feels like they have a different stance.

In general, this means Eddie’s just about ready to shit his pants at any given moment while Steve’s threatening to throw punches. If nothing else it’s interesting for their subscribers on Youtube to watch.

“Eddie, it’s okay. Besides, I didn’t actually buy it–”
Eddie narrows his eyes. “You made me something?”
Steve purses his lips. “Not exactly.”
Before Eddie can ask what he means, Steve grabs his hand and drags him towards his room.

The flower’s face dropped. “What the fuck? I swear I pulled both of you into the encounter.”
“What does that even mean?” Steve asked incredulously, bat quickly back to being raised in front of them.
