Ah. That makes sense. she had never really heard of mermaids existing in real life before, but she'd heard stories of them. And after all, she hadn't seen her piano in nearly a month, so maybe it still was all just a dream.
She walked down the rickety steps of the cliff to the beach and felt her bare feet sink into warm sand as she made her way to the shoreline. The mermaids were nearly there as she was, and she could see Ena’s face of surprise as she recognised her.
She waited until they were all on shore then said, “You're all mermaids? I thought it was just Ena.”
“You remembered?”
She made eye contact with the brunette. “Of course. You were beautiful.”
Ena flushed angrily. “Are you saying I'm not now?”
“No.”
