"Shouldn't you be helping him?" An old woman to the left of Jayce said.
"Sorry, are you talking to me?" Jayce asked, spinning around to face the woman.
"Who else? How dare you leave your exhausted and disabled partner to pick his cane up off the floor!" The woman all but yelled, motioning wildly with her hands.
"Huh?-" Jayce took a step back, his expression going from confused to exasperated. "I promise you he's fine-"
Viktor appeared back at Jayce's side, having gathered his cane. One glance at Viktor's smug expresion told Jayce he'd been set up.
"Viktor! You've got to stop doing this!"

"It's not necessary. I want to marry you even without a ring.” protested Viktor immediately. He didn't like the idea of Jayce spending a lot on him. He already had a loving partner, a good job, a comfortable home, practically everything he lacked when he was younger. "I don't want you to spend a fortune on me. You could develop your inventions with that money, you could use it to help others."
"Victor. You know, science and inventions are very good things, they are useful, they can help others and us, we can make money out of them," he took his hands, "but they will not wait for me home at the end of the day, they will not hug me or comfort me on a bad day, most of all they will not love me. You do, and it's worth every penny to me.”
Overall: After a long work day Jayce and Viktor relax at home, when some insecurities come up. Jayce, being the good boyfriend he is, save the day. What is a better way to say 'I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you' than with an engagement?
