Caitlyn bites her lip, brows pulling together. “You didn't have to do that, you know,” she mutters, fingers reaching to tug at the front of Vi’s shirt, eyes downcast.
“I wanted to,” Vi admits, this swelling in her chest telling her that she means it.
“Why?”
Vi takes a breath as she lifts a hand to brush back a loose strand of hair. She shrugs a shoulder. “Would you believe me if I said I don't know?”
“No, but I can pretend to, if you'd like,” Caitlyn says around a chuckle. Caitlyn’s knees suddenly tighten around Vi’s hips so she staggers forward, her hands automatically pulling Caitlyn closer, her hands hooking underneath her knees to pull her closer to the edge, earning her a gasp. Her hands trail up her legs, and Vi’s stomach swoops as Caitlyn’s eyes flicker to her lips, Caitlyn’s hands settling on her hips, her thumbs hooking underneath the bands of her shorts.
Okay, maybe we can be friends, Vi thinks, a breath getting caught in her throat as she leans forward.

It takes a moment for her to notice it, that someone is humming. Caitlyn approaches the corner that hides the showers, sees steam clouding its way out of the farthest stall to the left. She debates leaving, to just stomach the ride home, home where her mother and father wait for her return. But the thought of running into her mother so soon after today’s match makes her stomach flip and turn into knots. She abandons the idea of going home early altogether and simply settles for sharing the locker room space with someone else.

Sat alone in a far booth and wearing a black dress that’s neckline plunged dangerously low between her tits was the hottest woman Vi had ever seen. She was looking down at her phone, ink black hair that looked almost blue against the screen’s glow spilling over her shoulder. Vi watched as the woman suddenly clicked the phone off, letting it clatter to the table as she leaned back into the tattered leather chair. Even from across the room, Vi could see the stormy expression on her face.
She looked pissed.
And, luckily for Vi, her glass looked empty.
