Another earthquake-resonant rumble in response. The presence treading lightly just within the bounds of his skull practically purrs in satisfaction, more Luxray than Shinx, all life-ending authority with no interest in being turned upon him. The freshly-formed organ deep within his lower belly throbs.

Summary
At first Cyrus had thought it deliberate (had needed defense against the inexplicable unbalancing effect of it), but he has no intention of deluding himself, and observation makes it readily apparent: Saturn himself isn't aware of the way he reacts, the widening of his eyes and the upturn of his lips as his stance perks. He asks Cyrus if he slept well, and Cyrus mumbles a vague affirmative as he stares into the wall rather than Saturn's smiling face.
Of his three Commanders, not one protests nor contests that they are tools to him. Not one falters even minutely in their loyalty to him.
Cyrus tentatively entertains an alternative approach to both his ideal world and the tools with which to create it.

Resting more of his weight on his palms, against Bach’s ribs, the predator leans in until there is nowhere left to recoil from his beautiful, terrible face. “Do you know,” he says, voice a low, low rumble, “what we Kindred call our feeding?”
