Summary
Furina de Fontaine is, for lack of a better word, torn. The position of Hydro Archon is no more, Foçalors has been sentenced to death by her own volition, while she, the human embodiment of the late Hydro Archon’s aspirations and sentimentality, can live on as a citizen of Fontaine without the burden of a destructive prophecy weighing down on the people that were once her own, but the emptiness inside her persists. Her dreams are nothing out of the ordinary: start life over somewhere abroad, never look back, say goodbye to everything and everyone she always knew. Childe’s exit from the Primordial Sea after being hurled through the dimensional rift brings him on a small detour, and he comes face to face with someone who looks…a lot like Master Skirk.
(In which Jingliu and Skirk look SO ALIKE that I impulsively wrote a fic on that single premise.)Aka Childe interacts with the Astral Express, the Xianzhou Luofu cast, and check ins on Teyvat (every 18 ish chapters). He participates in a few companion quests ranging from Kafka’s to Jingliu’s. Watch him comprehend the power scaling in the Star Rail verse, getting himself into trouble, figure out how to return to Teyvat, and other shenanigans (if you ever wondered what would happen if Blade met Childe, this is the fic for you).
Oh and he impulsively ate the Lightless eye of the Maelstrom? (Wait- Didn't that mean he just ate the Narwhal?)
In the meantime, the Fatui have spread their resources to find their youngest. Il Dottore has a taste of knowledge about the world beyond the false sky, and Arlecchino leverages a few connections of her own.

I missed it the last time you two played.” He picks up the crate again, letting out a small grunt of effort, and the sound makes Scara want to ball his fists for some reason, but he restrains himself. Then Sethos leans toward him, very narrowly avoiding the space Scara considered personal. “I’ll be rooting for you when I get back, Hat Guy.” He says it jokingly, but his voice drops lower as he nears him, almost lost to the chatter of the cafe, though Scara’s ears catch it easily and he pulls the brim of his hat down to try and escape showing the way it buzzes around in his mind pleasantly.
“Whatever.” He mutters lamely.
