“I don’t know why you’re even here!” Eddie yells, voice just as loud, ringing—echoing in the nothingness of the once-home. “Just go back, okay?!” he adds, volume staying the same, stability rapidly decreasing, his eyes welling up in the moonlight pouring in through the window. “Alright? To her, or him, or both—and I’ll call you from the road, and I’ll say goodbye, and I’ll be back in El Paso, and…” If Eddie has more to say, it’s swallowed by the rapid way in which he’s breathing as he sinks back against the kitchen counter, the anger melting off of Buck’s shoulders as he carefully starts to approach him.

Summary
The Corroded Coffin members made a name for themselves investigating the paranormal, they have a fairly successful show that brings in some extra cash. Eddie's not sure if he really believes any of it, it's been eight years and he's only managed to record a few pieces of evidence he can't explain.
He's not expecting much from the investigation of the Harrington house, even laughing at how serious the man sounds about their safety. Steve Harrington himself and his stupid beautiful face is a big draw, he's not going to lie, but the stories he's telling about the haunting he's experiencing sound far-fetched even for them; particles of darkness, doors that lead nowhere, voices from rooms that are empty and visions of other places filled with black vines.
He'd assume the whole thing to be a hoax, if Harrington wasn't offering them a sizable amount of money to spend the night, and there's more on the table if they can rid him of his haunting for good.

“So what do you want me to do?” Buck asks. His voice is as solemn as the moment, and as warm as a caress.
This, Eddie almost says. I want this. I want you to hold me and make all my problems go away. I want to wake up, and have my son here. I want to go back in time to that tiny patch of years where I actually believed my mom loved me. I want my life to feel like my life, and not a test I’m constantly failing it. Mostly I just want Chris. And I want you.
But Eddie’s not allowed to ask for that last thing, is he? Changes in their relationship, in their intimacy aside, that relationship is still platonic. It’s passionate, and it’s deep. It’s the kind of love you live and die for, and it is, in some ways, romantic, yes. But not like that. So he settles for a half-truth and swallows the rest.
“I just want you to be here.”
