Aziraphale nods glumly—then suddenly brightens. “Aha! I’ve got it!”
Startled, Crowley bridles. “What?”
“I can show him some magic! Everybody finds magic enchanting!”
“No. No." Crowley threatens him with a finger. “No, you absolutely cannot show Jesus your magic tricks. Don’t you even think about it.”

Then you decided to preface all this with—” They paused delicately for dramatic effect. “I quote, ‘okay, don’t be mad.’”

“Now that you’re in disguise to not look like a celebrity?” Gale said.
They were dressed similarly, in a decades-old green cardigan and an identical black hat that said THARSIS UNIVERSITY Applied Linguistics Dept. on it. They threaded their ponytail through their baseball cap, which made January smile, because he had never pictured them doing it before. Behind deep purple sunglasses, their eyes were bright.
