Summary
Long ago, the Emperor of Rome crucified an oracle out of fear of her prophecies. Then Donatello, who would inherit his bloodlust and sadism but none of his cunning. After him, Ungalo, so hideous that his wet nurses recoiled from him. And Rikiel, doomed to a mind so fragile that his eyes would droop and he would forget to breathe. A prophecy only spoken in hushed whispers behind closed doors, one that never would have reached you in the cramped insula nestled at the foot of the Aventine Hill where you grew up.
And then Giorno had seen you in the stands from the Imperial Box of the Colosseum, and you found yourself trapped within it.
You could learn to love him, you decided once he had made you his wife. You could learn, if the cocky gladiator with the pretty green eyes would stop occupying your every waking thought. You could learn, if the woman he had broken his engagement to would stop staring daggers at you.
You could learn, if you could manage to survive.

She hadn’t known what to say to that look, so she’d looked at Bucciarati, who in turn had spread his hands. A conciliatory gesture, revealing an absence of weapons.
“What Giorno means is that, as far as he and I are concerned, you are already one of us.”
Trish throws in her lot with the new Passione, at the beginning and the end.
