    Louis hissed, unwittingly flashing his teeth in Lestat's direction. It took all of his strength to focus his gaze in one place and make eye contact.

    'Don't use that tone with me.' He sneered in a voice that didn't sound like his own.

The last moments of loneliness before their hearts would begin to race in tandem for eternity.
