Summary
Peter was alone, mid-way through an existential crisis after the Erasure™ and was dreading the upcoming month of May.
Jason was sick of people telling him how he felt. ‘You don’t need us anymore,’ Artemis had told him, as if saying it would make it true. As if Jason needed someone to justify keeping them around. But three weeks back in Gotham and all Jason felt was fucking bored and lonely.
It was a relief, then, when some random New Yorker was thrown into his living room through a portal straight out of some LSD daydream.
Finally, something interesting to deal with.
Cue some wild family misunderstandings, criminal conspiracies and cults.
Because there’s always a goddamn cult.

"You know, for someone who’s always got something to say about the way Bruce runs his territory, you sure do come here a lot,” he says, drifting in the churning water, allowing the surf to roll him over so his golden underbelly glitters in the morning sunlight.
“Proving a point,” Jason responds, baring sharp teeth. “Never said he had bad territory. If it wasn’t such a nice place, maybe he’d deserve it.”
Tim tilts his head. “Nicer than your territory?” he asks, the swish of his hair in the current mesmerizing. “Is the estuary not everything you thought it would be?”
Jason can’t stop watching the way the black stripes on his gills flare and flicker as he breathes. “Nah,” he says. “The estuary’s fine. Lots of food, the water’s nice. There’s a reason so many mers come there to nest, you know?” Their tails flick past each other, their slow orbit bringing them almost close enough to touch. “Only thing it’s lacking is the fish.”
“The fish,” Tim echoes. One hand trails past Jason’s scaly flank.
“Mm. The fish.” Their faces are so close now that Jason imagines he can taste the sweet flesh of the crab Tim was eating when Jason first spied him among the kelp. “B’s territory has some very pretty fish.”
