    Summary

“Percy.” Annabeth reaches out and grabs his hand without looking at him. “Stop. You’re going to give away the surprise.”

Percy clenches her hand tightly in his. He looks over at her—she’s got on an ivory beanie with a little pompom on the end, and she’s tapping on her phone with expert dexterity with her free hand. Probably texting Malcolm about his dissertation—she’s been taking a lot of late night phone calls to help him through bouts of panic and talk him down from his more out-there theories. Evidently, being on winter break means nothing to the average over-achieving Athena kid.

(He should know—he lives with one. Even with a month-long break and in the first trimester of pregnancy, the apartment is overcrowded with her filled sketchbooks and blueprints, with academic journal articles and research papers. She never stops working. Percy opened the fridge a few nights ago looking for the oatmilk and found a protractor. Annabeth plucked it right out of his hands and went, “Thanks, babe, I’ve been looking for that!”)

“Sorry,” he says. “I just . . . What if she doesn’t take it well?”

    Summary

And lovesick is why, when Annabeth says, “Could you go to the store for me?” Percy falls over himself immediately to do so, without even a second’s hesitation.

“Of course,” he says, already half-rising out of the rickety dining table chair he’d planted himself on, reaching to grab his keys from the basket on the counter behind him. “What do you need?”

Annabeth presses her lips into a thin line for a moment, and Percy has half a second to feel the flicker of worry twitch in his chest. Then Annabeth smiles, tired and sheepish but still beautiful, and she says, “A pregnancy test.”

    Or,

Things don't always go according to plan, but the one thing Percy can always count on is his undying love for Annabeth to get him through. (And Annabeth's back up plan, of course.)

    Summary

Athena’s eyes flash and glow, and she raises her hands. Annabeth closes her eyes, and everything in the air sizzles to a stop. There is a faint sea breeze, and then a familiar presence at her side.

“It would be unwise of you to hurt her.”

She opens her eyes to her boyfriend’s dad standing behind her, his eyes intent on her mother, who looks like she’s about to blow her top. Annabeth doesn’t breathe, doesn’t look away from Athena, but she takes several quick steps back to stand at Poseidon’s side. It’s not conscious; it’s a move based purely on self-preservation. Still, Annabeth is aware that every step she takes into the sea increases her mother’s ire and decreases the likelihood that Annabeth will ever be forgiven.

aka: Poseidon wants Percy to ascend. He'd like it even better if Percy chose to ascend. And if the best reason to become a god is for love, it doesn't take Poseidon long to realize that he doesn't have to look any further than Annabeth Chase. Meanwhile, while Annabeth is balancing PTSD, protecting Percy, and being a good daughter of a goddess who doesn't seem to care, she now has to figure out why she is on Poseidon's radar.

    Summary

It started off as a joke, really. Just a little bit of spiteful payback to lighten Percy’s mood. He never meant to be disrespectful - though it's easy to be seen as impertinent when calling a god “Mr. Derulo” with a straight face. Percy just wanted a little revenge, is that too much to ask?

Percy Jackson is fed up with Mr. D calling him “Peter Johnson” or anything other than his real name, so he decides to call Mr. D anything but Dionysus.

Perhaps his least favorite part of teaching English, Paul decides, is grading essays.

    At least Percy's is entertaining.
