Summary
Professor Tetsuya Idabashi has always been eccentric. Maybe too eccentric for his own good, but without it, he wouldn't make the most innovative, impressive robots the world has ever known. Eventually, all of it leads to the moment he activates his greatest creation: a sentient, humanoid robot named K1-B0, affectionately called Kiibo. With the help of his wife, Midori, Tetsuya does his best to raise Kiibo and teach him what it's like to be a human.
There's just one problem, though: his emotions. He believes he's supposed to feel them, but he can't. Tetsuya believes he can, though, even after two years pass with no changes. One day, Kiibo will have to smile. One day...

Summary
Homu Kurusu, one of the many students at Akademi High School, is most known for being apathetic, unfeeling, and asocial. Never speaking unless spoken to, never showing even a hint of a smile, and being part of the science club are all traits that make her seem like the robots she makes. In fact, lots of her peers think she's fueled by narcissism due to the robot lookalike she works on during the day, although nobody knows her true intentions or why she's the way she is. Meka Nikaru, Homu's only friend, is one of the many who wonder why she acts like this, but there always comes a day when a hidden past comes out.
