Summary
“Just so you know,” JJ says, breaking her out of her own thoughts. “I’m only doing this cause I fucking hate Topper.”
Kiara knows that’s not the only reason, but she hardly expects him to divulge whatever blackmail Scout has in her back pocket.
“Good,” Kiara says tightly, clearing her throat. “I wouldn’t expect anything less.”
Or, Kiara never made up with the Pogues, and Prom Season is about to be a clusterfuck.

Summary
Cleo has become very familiar with Pope’s kindness. He’s extended it to her time and time again, evidenced by the fact that, even now, she’s sitting on his bed and wearing his clothes as if she owns his room, and he’s coming in as a visitor.
The thing is, whatever she feels for him goes way beyond kindness. It’s wild to think he might feel the same way.
or, Cleo and Pope talk about books. kind of.

Summary
She hides the shaking of her hands even as she wishes for death, because she’s been trained her entire life to find secrets and her entire career to keep secrets of her own, and when her mind is blank with terror and fear and the sound of Ruhn screaming, the only thing she has left is her training.
It’s kept them both alive this long. She doesn’t know how much longer they have until that good luck runs out.
or, I process cc3 by publishing an old ruhnlidia centric spec fic.

Summary
“I could drive you home,” Ricky adds after a moment, as if he needs to clarify. “If, like, that wouldn’t be more awkward.”
Gina wants to laugh. Driving home for eleven hours in the passenger seat of her very recent ex-boyfriend’s car is the most awkward thing Gina can imagine.
A close second would be driving home with Ricky Bowen, who she’d only just made amends with within the last two weeks.
Or, Gina and Ricky drive home and turn the plane around.

Summary
He doesn’t need to explain any of this to Kiara. She’s been sneaking out almost as long as he has been, albeit under different circumstances, and she’s got a fire under her ass as she carves a sure-footed path through the thin forest surrounding the camp. JJ’s not as graceful as she is – his boots catch on the roots and rocks that she glides over, struggling to match the pace she’s setting in the ratty old sneakers that her mother hates.
And, honestly, this isn’t new territory for them. He’s been trying to catch up with her for a while. Not just on this hike from Kitty Hawk Hell but, like, in life. Generally speaking.
Or, JJ reflects on his relationship with Kiara right after kissing her for the first time.
