It's a few days before the second Extermination is due to occur and Alastor's feeling ready.

A little warm, but, you know, ready.
Until he discovers that his heat is coming two weeks early, which really puts a wrench in his plans. But, no, everything is fine. Really, it's FINE. All he needs to do was make it through one fight and he's free to handle this stupid, pesky heat. No problem. Adam shouldn't be too hard to handle, he's only one guy.
Everything's going to work out, Alastor's sure of it.

He pushes the elevator button, waits the long seconds it takes to open, and limps inside, but when he turns to press the button for the top floor, Vox is still watching. He’s rolling back and forth on the balls of his feet, hands in his pocket. A smile had found its way onto his face, broad and happy, like a cat that got the cream.
Or canary.
Alastor feels a little like a bird. Tied down by a string to his foot, hopping and fluttering, but unable to get away from the rotation of cats sharing his cage.
He meets Vox’s eyes with an indifferent smile, but it’s only when the elevator dings and begins to close does Vox finally turn and stride down the hall.
It drops as soon as the doors slide shut and a glare stares back at him through the stainless steel door.

Summary
Extermination Day is over and things couldn't be better! The hotel is rebuilt, bigger and better than ever, it's been proven that redemption is possible, and for the first time in months, sinners are flocking to the Hazbin Hotel doors.
But not everyone is doing well. Following his battle with Adam, Alastor finds himself infected with holy power that not only causes him immense amounts of pain, but prevents him from using his demonic abilities. Both injured and unable to fully protect himself, he scrambles to keep his enemies off his back as he searches for a way out of his predicament.
Lucifer, on the other hand, is rekindling his relationship with Charlie. He's doing his best, but years of disconnect leave him fumbling as he gets to know his daughter and strives to prove that he believes in her dream. However, having isolated himself for a millennia, it puts him in a precarious situation as he's thrust back into Hell's politics and all the complexities that come with it.
In a mutually beneficial agreement, Lucifer and Alastor pretend to be in a relationship in a slapstick attempt to solve both of their problems.
And who knows what chaos will come about as their feelings take root...

Vox traps Alastor in a Faraday cage, where his powers are blocked while inside it. Vox thinks he’s finally defeated Alastor and expects to find him begging for mercy. But Vox’s plan backfires. He just happened to catch Alastor during his once a year heat. Vox can’t believe that Alastor actually seems pleasantly surprised to be caught. Instead of begging for mercy, Alastor is begging for Vox to mate with him. Through the bars of the cage.
