Summary
Sanji’s father always told him to stay away from the edge of the forest that grew a mile away from the castle.
That’s where the Fae hunted for unsuspecting prey, he’d said in the beginning, when Sanji still had potential. They feasted on human flesh, and swapped children out for doppelgangers with too-large eyes and too many teeth. It was not a fate befitting of a Vinsmoke, the king said. By the time Sanji was nine, his father made it clear that being switched out with a Fae child would be an improvement.
Sanji is ten years old when he meets the changeling boy, and only two more than that when he had his own funeral. A war erupts in the name of a scapegoat. When the Fae king of the Sun Court makes a demand for royal blood as payment for peace, Sanji isn't at all surprised to be the chosen sacrifice.

Summary
Sanji is Baratie’s sous chef. He balances the workload so the old man doesn't collapse under it, he keeps the kitchen moving, he puts out fires, he handles emergencies, he takes care of things when Zeff isn't around to do it.
When Zeff isn't–
One, two, three, four, stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive. He's gonna have the goddamn Bee Gees stuck in his head all day now. He doesn't even like the Bee Gees.
Or: Sanji doesn't know why everyone keeps asking if he's okay. He's handling things just fine.

Niji exaggerates the last line, pulling it long and thin with his reedy voice. All of his siblings laugh, even Maman from where she's seated on the bed, combing Reiju's hair with long, gentle strokes.Sanji doesn't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing he can't laugh around the gauze stuffed into the back of his mouth.
Probably a good thing. He doesn't want Niji to get mad at him later.
"Why are they plucking the birdie anyway?" Yonji whines, lying on the ground. Reiju had told him once that Yonji used to be scared of the song, that he'd cry in bed after Maman sang it to them.
"Maybe it's a useless bird," Reiju's back is straight, her hands folded in her lap. Sanji doesn't understand her, if Maman ever combed his hair he'd lean back as far as he could go.
"Yeah," Ichiji echoes, glancing at Sanji, "Maybe it's a useless bird."
Maman frowns slightly but doesn't tell them anything.
Neither Sanji nor his siblings tell her what happened to Sanji's back teeth.
Or: Sanji hides, Zoro searches. Somehow, somewhere they find each other.

Summary
The Strawhats have landed on a lively island with a bustling town and what’s the first thing the swordsman does?
He gets lost and accidentally winds up cursed after swimming in a forbidden and forgotten pool.
And worse than that -it appears the curse is also having a dangerous effect on their cook.
There’s something much more unpleasant going on as well on the island, and the marines are hot on their trail, will the Strawhats fix their silly swordsman in time, and can Sanji be saved from a darker fate?
