They were in deep sleep. The room was cold, quiet and yet filled with people, currently resting in their sleep pods. It’s been a long journey from Kepler back to Earth, longer than any human could bear to go through without cryosleep. Technology saves people from boredom yet again. Life on ship was inevitably peaceful like this, without all the usual bickering the crew had engaged in. Everyone had agreed it’s better to spend these few months in pods rather than drinking themselves to death. Besides, the alcohol supply would only last a week at most, considering they’ve got Ampyr and Kowal aboard. And Rozia. And Komar. And literally everyone else.

Joseph "Joss" Ender was never really interested in aliens until one entered the shop he worked at.
Shit, he thought as the blue skinned, over 2 metres tall alien finally turned their purple eyes in his direction. It wasn't like Joss had never seen an Ilaenite before. It would be difficult after 15 years of Ilaenan occupation of Earth. Joss grew up seeing them on the news, hearing countless political disputes in media, reading true and false "fun facts" about them, joking about them with friends and strangers on the Internet.But with an alien right before him it's difficult not to get mortified. Little did he know that the alien was looking at him feeling same panic.

Once sealed we fight to feed her so she may sleep deeply and we can be blessed with a long summer.” Burakh explained, “You cannot come to the sealing ritual, but the townsfolk are encouraged to join the rest of the festival and participate as Suok doesn't care whose blood is spilled.”
Daniil is oblivious to the fact Artemy has been courting him all winter long until he realizes Artemy is showing off for him in the Circle of Suok.
