Summary
SecUnits were constructs, part bot and part cloned human tissue, however most all humans considered them no more than a bot at the best of times. The original designers probably made it intentional that there was always organic neural tissue involved, it was a built in adaptative feature. Had that information ever been public knowledge, or if it had, how long ago it had been suppressed by bond companies and their manufacturers was another question.
A what-if take about a DeltFall SecUnit surviving the events of All Systems Red. This is a direct follow up to "Two Steps Forward and One Step Back"

Summary
On official public Company record, the entire DeltFall Survey Team had been lost due to the actions of corporate entity GrayCris. All sites were examined by recovery teams and were successful in retrieving all three SecUnits assigned to DeltFall. It is not public knowledge the degree of destruction a SecUnit can be repaired from, and even corporate knowledge is uncertain of the success rate.
