The world is simple, painfully so, and Percy’s is corrupt with boredom. It is made out of few things, little things. Pain. Fear. Whispers of love and howls of lust. Flesh.
He is not in love. Not really. He only sticks close because he is the only one left, and he knows the monsters outside the little bubble Kronos has created for him will eat him alive. It didn’t matter who he was. It didn’t matter who he ever was, or what he was going to be. He was always just a piece of meat in the end.
And he knows.
The Fates have no intention of making this a happy ending.
