Summary
Leia looks up at him, wide anguished eyes in a blotchy face, otherwise pale skin mixing with her white dress. Hair is coming loose from her simple braid, shaking hand clutching a blaster pointed waveringly at him, the other arm cradling a very pregnant stomach.
“You-“ Bail doesn’t know what to do with any of this. “You haven’t been gone that long!”
“Shut up,” she wheezes. “You don’t know anything, you-“ she curls further in on herself, clapping her other hand over her mouth so she can wail into her palm.
“Leia-“
“You’re a trick!” She gasps, pulling her hand away from her mouth. “You’re a trick or a trap or something, don’t get anywhere near me!”

Summary
A revolution forces Ahsoka Tano on the run with an elite mercenary, who both fascinates and frustrates her. Now facing a reality she no longer understands, Ahsoka must learn how to move forward. Former Jedi Barriss Offee has lost faith in many things she once held dear. However, escaping who she was proves difficult when her newest job becomes personal.
What if... Ahsoka hadn’t been raised as a Jedi? Barriss took a different approach in her efforts to end the war? The Jedi managed to defeat Palpatine yet still missed the point? Gabby watched one too many documentaries about Anastasia?
This AU uses the canon universe setting & characters, but I do play liberally in the sandbox.

An AU where Ahsoka isn't a jedi, and is instead a princess of Shili. Barriss is a mercenary now, and the temple bombing didn't happen. This is set post-Clone Wars with a republic victory. It is largely through Ahsoka's POV. It's loosely based on Anastasia, so if you know anything about that story you can guess where this is heading.
It's, really fucking good.

Bookmarker's Notes
The single best Locked Tomb AU fic I've ever read, and it's complete! It's based on the Harrowhark Nova "AU" in HtN where Harrow can't do necromancy and Gideon can, so Harrow's (shitty) parents chose Gideon to become the reverend daughter and abandoned Harrow. It was written before NtN so do expect some more canon divergence than the AU on its own implies, as the author had to fill in some gaps. It gave me lots of feelings. It's also extremely gay.
If you like knowing what you're getting into, the author made this note which you can pass through a Rot-13 Decoder: Vg unf n unccl Tevqqyrunex raqvat
Spoilers for Gideon the Ninth and Harrow the Ninth. Read those books first, they're so good I swear. My absolute favorite series ever and it's best read with as few spoilers as possible.

Excellent Sith Barrisoka fic set in a Sith mirror universe AU (a bit like the Terran Empire mirror universe from Star Trek except with fuedal sith empires, some really excellent worldbuilding). Truly terrible Sith!Luminara who you will grow to despise very quickly. Violence against abusers is always justified. Weirdly sexy hurt/comfort, but you will not complain. Very satisfying story overall (not entirely because of the smut, which if I'm being honest isn't that bad. It's like.. striding borderline. You'll get it). Highly recommend, only real qualm with the story is how slavery is presented, it didn't always feel to me that the concept was always given adequate care (but it's very in line with how Sith interact with the institution in canon). All the present characters are very convincing as Sith versions of themselves, their personalities all clicked for me and weirdly no one felt out of character.
CW: Graphic Violence, Abusive Parent/Guardian, Psychological Abuse, Referenced/Implied Child Abuse, Torture, Slavery, Murder, Sci-Fi Racism (racism against non-human species)
-- Note: The torture is particularly brutal in Chapter 4, Slavery is present throughout and core to the themes of the story, Abuse is also core to the story (specifically Sith Master!Luminara is extremely abusive toward Sith Apprentice!Barriss) -

Summary
There are a million different ways Ahsoka Tano's life could have turned out:
She could have died hopelessly in the trenches of the Clone Wars,
she could have led a successful galaxy-wide insurgency,
she could have grown into the next coming of the legendary Master Fay,
she could have remained a nameless mechanic . . .This is not one of those stories.
"A History Of Ashes" recounts the rise of the Ashean Empire, and more importantly,
constitutes half the biography of the first Ashen Empress,
Lady Of Ashes, Ahsoka Tano.

Bookmarker's Notes
Sadly unfinished, but the story ends at a good enough stopping point. If you can bare that, and don't mind the (at times excessive) dark elements, it's absolutely worth a read.
One of the best explorations of Sith!Ahsoka that exists. Really cool interpretation of Sith philosophy and all things evil in the star wars universe. Ahsoka's fall to the dark side is believable enough, but not the best I've read (in my opinion) so I had to work to suspend my disbelief in the begging. After that though, it is truly excellent. Proper unhinged, too. This is not a diet Sith Ahsoka, this is a Sith Ahsoka that, by the point where the story ends, has done some truly terrible things. There is no redemption angle here, though many of the characters (including Ahsoka) are sympathetic. This is a story with a villain protagonist who, throughout the story, goes almost completely off the deep end. If you like rooting for evil against evil, this is a fic for you.
First fic relationship tag is mislabeled, imo should be Ahsoka Tano & Darth Vader. Second would likely have included Ahsoka Tano/Barriss Offee should it have continued, their relationship develops extensively throughout the story. All relationships are toxic as hell anyway, so don't read for that.
CW: Graphic Violence, Mass Murder, Blood and Gore, Abuse, Kidnapping and Abduction, Sci-Fi Racism (Against Species), Sexual Assault, Torture, Slavery, State Violence
-- Note: These Content Warnings are no joke. Many of them are extensive, detailed, and at times excessive. Do not read if you are not comfortable with that. -

Barriss pulled her helmet off and threw it to the side. Her palm fit over the hilt of her saber while her thumb ignited a bouquet of red light. A violin played its first chord.

My absolute favorite Inquisitor!Barriss AU. Loaded with musical symbolism. Unreliable perspective character (but in a really pretty, almost poetic way). The author put a lot of themselves into this work and it shows through beautifully. There's also some really great art thrown in! And a dash of hurt/comfort.

Bookmarker's Notes
Brilliant exploration of, most especially, Ahsoka Tano's character through the brilliant central conceit that she was in on the temple bombing plot with Barriss (I have never seen this done before). I was hooked by the second chapter and it only got better from there. Full of gay angst, hurt/comfort, very well-written action, and some truly intense drama that left me neglecting sleep for nights in a row in an attempt to read it all as quickly as possible. I cannot recommend this fic enough.
