“Faith, stop!” Faith stops. She’s like a fucking dog; always yields when her owner calls. She turns her head, just enough so Buffy knows she’s listening.
“Don’t go yet,” Buffy says quietly, and Faith’s shoulders slump.
“I’ve gotta be in Chicago by morning. Rona’s expecting me.”
“Will can send you by teleportation circle in the A.M. Stay the night.” Faith closes her eyes and takes a breath. Dangerous words out of Buffy’s mouth. Could be innocuous; anyone hearing them might think they’re innocent.
Faith knows better. Nothing about her and Buffy in a room together is ever innocent.

Summary
Maura Isles isn’t exactly a sports person, but when her boyfriend invites her to a Red Sox game with his friends, she agrees to go. She expected to be bored; what she did not expect was to be turning down a proposal in front of thousands of people. Jane Rizzoli is at the game with her brother and witnesses the proposal gone wrong. She steps in and rescues Maura from an over-involved crowd and an oncoming camera crew. After enjoying her company when she took Jane out to thank her, Maura embarks on an epic rebound with her. She expected it to be fun, but she did not expect to fall in love.
