Rey's mind was reeling. She’d seen him kill people he liked half as much as he liked her, and he hadn’t been happy about it. “Please, Kylo, don’t tell me you wanna /hurt/ me."
“I’m not gonna hurt you,” he purred.
“I’ve done a lot for you,” Rey whispered. She watched as the mercy won out over his sadism, and he cupped her cheek sweetly with a nod.
“I know."
She gulped and worked up her nerve. “I don’t have enough credits to make it to my birthday,” she said. He laughed, low and sexy and long.
“I’ll give you double what you think you’ll need, sweetheart, and I’ll be sure to send you your birthday present, too.”
