Summary
Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter were finally returning to a sense of normalcy after Gaea's defeat, aside from the whole 'Apollo is missing' and 'Oracles aren't working' thing. Under Will's watchful eye, Nico was beginning to regain his health after his ordeal lugging the Athena Parthenos half way across the world.
Chiron asks Nico if he would be staying at Camp this fall or leaving to try going to a normal mortal High School and initially, Nico thinks that he's staying.
Hades however, has noticed that the souls of monsters have been disappearing from the Underworld, leaving through open portals and into another world beyond the reach of the Gods. And there's nothing that annoys Hades more than Souls departing from the Underworld when they aren't supposed to. And what is a problem for Hades inevitably becomes a problem for Nico to deal with.
Unfortunately, this new world isn't receptive to Nico running around with a sword fighting Monsters. Apparently, you need a license for that.
Turns out that Nico is going to a mortal High School this year after all...just not a normal one.
