He never even knew how to ask for these things, nor would he do so even if he did, because he did not want to take from Kaveh. Despite how comfortable he knew Kaveh had become, he feared that if he sought more from him, he might scare him away. He felt that he had already asked so much from him simply to have him live in his home, pay rent, and accept his presence. He felt that he already asked so much when he put up with his attitude, even if Kaveh had started most of their past arguments. But no, he felt that he took enough on that day at the Akademiya, when he shattered their relationship with one simple statement.
He asked enough from him when he rekindled their relationship. He could not ask for more.

Summary
Alhaitham was against everyone's expectations a loud learner. He would mumble and walk in circles, hands tossing left, right, and center. His colored pens etched pictures of ideas and themes into any surface of Sumeru he could reach, not sparing his skin, books, tables, walls, school robes, or the dirt ground in the spaces of Razan Garden. Sumeru was carved with Alhaitham's mind in colorful swirls that rivaled tapestries sold in Port Ormos.
And in the secluded study on the third floor in the House of Daena, Kaveh would be included in the brilliance of a mind that is like no other. Blessed to become a canvas, a listening ear for the process of gaining knowledge. Basking in the warmth of someone dear.

Summary
It's an ordinary day. Kaveh slumps across the dining table, blinking sleep and blur out of his eyes. Alhaitham sits down opposite him in his usual chair, picks up his book to read.
“Kaveh,” Alhaitham says, “I'm in love with you.”
Kaveh’s mouth drops in shock. Oatmeal dribbles a bit out the edges. “What?”
Alhaitham says, calm as if nothing life shattering were occuring, “I'm in love with you.” He doesn't even put down his book.
What the fuck??? Kaveh thinks.
“What the fuck.” Kaveh says.
Alhaitham sighs, “I think I was quite clear with my diction.” He rests his book on the table, grabs his cape from the back of his chair, and starts sliding his arms through the sleeves.
“It's about time for me to head to work. I'll be taking my leave now.” Alhaitham steps to the door, grabs his keys (and Kaveh’s, in plain sight) and before Kaveh can blink again, he's out the door like it's an ordinary day.
