“Oh, Buck,” Karen’s voice took him from his thoughts, and he went back to listening. “You know that’s not the case. Maddie and Chim are still here. We’re still here. Bobby and Athena are still here.”
“But you all have each other," Buck replied. “Maddie has Chim, and you have Hen, and Bobby has Athena. Eddie and Chris? They were mine.”
“And they still are, Buck,” Hen said. “They always will be.”
“Will they, though?” Buck asked. “What happens when Eddie moves back to Texas, and he starts laying down roots there right with Chris? What-what happens when he meets somebody that loves them more than…than anything in the world, and they forget me ?”

Denny overhears a conversation between his mothers and Buck about Eddie moving to Texas, and asks Chris via the group chat he and the other 118 kids are in together. Chris is being held hostage in Texas by his grandparents, and desperately is trying to return to LA. With the help of the 118, can the teens get Chris back home and save Christmas?

Buck decided, with the phrase 'you're exhausting', repeating somewhere in the far depths of his mind, that his best bet to get this breakup off his mind was to drown his sorrows in the overpriced draft beers at the bar down the road, and then, once the beers turned to shots of tequila, and the pretty girl next to him smile flirtatiously and placed her perfectly manicured hand on his bicep, he decided he could drown out his sexuality crisis in between the thighs of a pretty girl.

Summary
Evan “Buck” Buckley was not an honest person as much as he would like to be or even was trying to be in his own way. His dishonesty wasn’t malicious in the slightest though. He had his reasons, of course, but his entire identity was built on a shaky Jenga tower of lies. As much as he built it up, one by one the blocks were still removed over the years making the tower less and less stable.
Buck joined the 118 fresh out of the Navy and braced himself for all the questions that were about to come his way which he did not want to answer. Then, like a gift from above, somehow and shockingly, no one had read his resume, and he found he could start all over again, be a new person, someone completely different or maybe who he was supposed to be all along.
