He purposely volunteered to go on the freezing fishing trips with his dad just to hear the stories of real life adventurers. Just shy of fifteen his left home for the adventure he craved. But the world was cruel and falling into the abyss shattered his soul. Twisted his childish dreams into a self devouring hunger. An unsatiable hunger to dance on the precipice of life and death. To taste blood in his mouth and ache till his muscles moved no more. A painful smile always wide on his lips.
A prince named Aether, diseased from the lands as his life waned held out a hand and offered power in exchange for undying loyalty. He looked so weak and helpless that Ajax felt something stir within him. Aether was glowing like a beacon of salvation even when surrounded by darkness with a softness that only the princesses had in his story books. For the first time Ajax didn't mind if he became a villain if he could tie himself to this ethereal being forever.

Aether wasn’t an idiot. He may be blonde but he wasn’t stupid.
He knew he captured the (unwanted) affections of a good number of men he’s met so far in his journey across Teyvat. All we’re vision wielders, talented and handsome but Aether couldn’t see himself falling in love with any of them. He was too busy trying to find his sister.
Untill he met a certain ginger in Liyue…who turned out to be a powerful Harbinger who was capable of slicing his throat open…
Why did he fall in love with Childe of all people?! The Eleventh damn Harbinger?! The one who almost singlehandedly drowned Liyue Harbor by unleashing a dangerous god?! Man…Aether had weird taste.
And what was worse was that Childe wasn’t even aware! He also wasn’t among Aether’s many admirers, so reciprocation was almost out of the question...
However this is Aether we are talking about here…
Aether is many things but he’s not a quitter.
He’s a man on a (second) mission…and that mission is :Make the Eleventh Harbinger Fall in Love with His Rival or Mission MEHFLHR…the title is a work in progress.

Aether knew that, if he had any inch of common sense left, he should be suspicious of whatever nefarious scheme that the Wanderer may be plotting. And yet, something stirring deep within him, perhaps curiosity, or maybe just the fact that being in the Wanderer’s dream meant reprieve from the torture that was his own, urged him to plop down in the sand after only a moment’s hesitation.

The intensity of the stare has Aether shyly turning his head to the side, only for a harsh grasp to shoot up and roughly grab his jaw, forcing the blond to look back at him, visibly annoyed by Aether's attempt to look away.
"Look at me when I'm talking to you." Scaramouche murmurs, dark and audibly irritated. "Avoiding this isn't going to solve anything. You gave yourself to me for payment, you know what that means, right?" he mumbles, scoffing when Aether doesn't respond; he's too bashful to utter something coherent. "It means that you're mine now, Aether; and unless I stop tutoring you, you'll stay that way, understood?" the tutor snaps.
Aether nods stiffly.
"Then the next time you touch someone for the sole purpose of pissing me off..." Scaramouche stare steels with anger, an unhinged possessiveness that Aether has never seen before underlying his pupils. "do not say that you don't know why you're being punished. Is that clear?"
Intimidated, Aether's eyes flutter a bit. He gulps nervously.
"Crystal."
