The covered head turned towards her, the intruder slowly lifting their hands in surrender. The movement shifted their cloak, revealing a satchel beneath, the top edge of a crystal piece glittering in the pale light.
A thief.
”Who are you?” She demanded.
The thief paused, fingers twitching in the air before moving to the hood of the cloak. The hood dropped back to reveal brightly colored hair, at the same time that a voice Caitlyn had not heard in nearly a decade spoke.

The woman who had approached her seemed more than annoyed now and without a single word, stormed out in flaming rage.
That was when she heard it. A soft, feminine giggle from her right. Vi’s grey eyes dragged themselves away from the door and towards the sound, only to find a rather pretty girl standing by the t-shirt section. Apparently she had witnessed the entire encounter because the playful grin she gave Vi was clearly telling her that she had enjoyed what she had just heard.

Summary
Caitlyn just wanted a friend at her new school. Just one. She didn't really care who it was. One friend was better than none, which had been the situation at the private school she attended before the big move. And here she was. The transfer student from London, standing in a classroom full of American public school kids, in the middle of the fucking school year. The navy haired girl looked around, finding the only open seat next to a rather angry looking pink-haired girl. She'd have to do. Caitlyn stepped up to the seat, determined to make this girl with a buzz cut and seemingly permanent frown on her face, her first real friend.

Caitlyn forces Vi to become friends with her when they are 14, which spirals into a deep friendship that leads them through high school (chapter 1 - 11) and into University (chapters 11 - 21). Neither dares confess their feelings for the other, out of fear that they might ruin the friendship. So they are just friends... who occasionally share a drunk kiss at a party. Nothing more than that...
(Basically: Caitlyn is the definition of gay panic and Vi is all over the place)
